About:

We are a Belgian & American couple who met on a rock climbing trip to Waterval Boven from where we were living in Mozambique back in 2010. Our lives have brought us many places since then, and we found ourselves back in South Africa in 2014, and close (again) to our beloved Boven! On a crazy whim we purchased Tegwaan Country Getaway in 2017. We have a wonderful community of friends who have supported us in our Tegwaan adventure, including giving their time, energy and support – thanks to all of you! Our goal with Tegwaan is to build a haven for conscious living away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Come back to nature with us and take a walk through our small, but growing, permaculture garden, say hello to our friendly chickens, swim in the spring fed swimming pool and just relax!

Camping with only you and the stars.
Whether you’re two people or a group of 8, our private campsite is a perfect space to immerse yourself in nature. In a secluded spot behind our 80 year old barn, you will be able to relax, braai and sing around the campfire to your heart’s content.

Amenities
Two picnic tables, two campfire circles, and up to 6 locations for tents. Many spots to hang a hammock. The campsite shares ablutions with the Acorn Tiny House and the Glamping unit. Water taps and electrical outlets are in the campsite, and extras in the barn. Communal use of the kitchen and hang out space in the barn.

Furry Friends – Dog Policy

Dogs are allowed at the discretion of management.
Dogs must be kept under control at all times and must be leashed if necessary.
Please don’t let your dogs harass our staff, other guest or other dogs.
Extra charge of R60 per dog per night (R30/n for the campsite).
Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the couches.
Please pick up after your dog around the houses.
We reserve the right to add an extra fee in case of damages or injury caused by pets.
Owners take full responsibility for any damage or injury caused by their pets.
